Personal Advisor and Employment Support
Personal Advisor & Employment Support Program offers support to clients in all areas of their lives which may affect their ability to access employment.
A personal advisor can provide a number of supports to eligible clients, such as identifying barriers to employment and providing job search and networking skills.
Support may be offered in: Balancing work & family, healthy life choices, goal setting, life skills, self-esteem, personal care, motivation, transportation, child care, budgeting, time management, interest profiling, career planning, job readiness, skill identification, education
- Personal Advisors work with clients to assist them to identify their strengths, skills, interests and values.
-Personal Advisors meet with each client on a one-to-one basis in their communities, and in their own homes whenever possible.
- Time is spent getting to know the client. Goals and action plans are written by the client to help them progress along their career path.
- Clients are supported to access resources available to them, such as: Mental Health Services, Family Services, Addictions Counselling, Literacy Programs, Driver Training Instruction, Etc.
- Job coaches may offer on and off-site support to both the employer and employee.
- Networking skills, community assessments, as well as informational interviews are interactive programs to help the client to discover employment opportunities available to them.
